Perched high within the Selong Belanak hills, Adangan occupies some of the most coveted land on the coastline — with uninterrupted views across Selong Belanak Bay to the shoreline beyond. It is a deliberate act of restraint. Of 50 hectares held in trust to the land, less than 8% will ever be built upon, leaving your presence, and everything you see, completely secondary to the natural surroundings.
Adangan will not simply be a resort. It will be an extremely low density boutique property and a collection of just 20–30 private villas, each holding uninterrupted sea views across the bay, moving through the site by quiet electric cart on roads kept to no more than 3 metres wide, narrow by design, to leave as little mark on the land as possible.
Alongside it will sit the Adangan Foundation, set amongst the surrounding padi fields. It will exist to make sure the coming tourism boom in Lombok benefits the people who call this coastline home, funding and training local entrepreneurs, and running education programs on responsible farming, animal welfare, and land stewardship.
The result will be a place that preserves the feeling of space, freedom and nature that draws so many to Lombok's shores. Selong Belanak will one day become busy and hectic like Bali, but a marker has just been placed for a secluded, unhurried, and genuinely private place in the hills.
Adangan exists to uplift Lombok beyond our doors. We will invest our success back into local entrepreneurs, equipping them to benefit from regional tourism. Through community programs focused on organic farming, wildlife conservation, and litter reduction, we will ensure the land and community are stronger for our presence.
To protect the natural topography, every structure will sit softly onto perfectly tiered hill. The lightest of footprints will allow natural rainwater runoff entirely undisturbed.
Built using a carefully curated material palette of local stone, sustainable bamboo, raw timbers, and expansive glass structural panes, the architecture frames the sweeping panoramic views of the bay while blending seamlessly into the hillside.
The entire arrival sequence is intentionally designed around the historic, ancient sacred tree on the ridge, creating an immediate, grounding connection to the land.
Privacy is treated as the ultimate luxury asset. Villas are spaced generously apart, establishing an absolute privacy buffer between residences.
